The lead image this month is a stunning commission that Peter has been making as a bespoke order for a customer. It’s a special commemorative ring so even more important to get it right. Featuring a cabochon emerald and beautiful enamel and diamonds, in 18ct gold.
Alongside working on other orders, we have on one customer’s behalf, carried out an extensive gem search for a rare padparadscha sapphire.
We managed to source a 5ct plus stone with tones that the customer (who is also a gemologist!) really loves. You may recall that padparadscha became really sought after following Princess Eugenie’s engagement.
We’re still receiving items from customers to scrap in exchange for upcycling and remodelling and all of the above has kept us pretty busy without any shows to go to!
As expected, most of the exhibitions for this season have now vanished from the calendar. We are waiting to hear whether the Henley Country Craft Show at Stonor will still go ahead on late August Bank Holiday and will let you know in our next bulletin, or check our website. Hever Castle is still planned to go ahead from 10th to 13th September – this is the organiser who runs the famous Wisley Craft Fair so we expect this to be very well attended. They are both open air events so we feel confident about attending them but will send you more news when we have it.
