As you may have heard, all of the exhibitions for the rest of the year have now been cancelled. All of us, I think, are reconciled though to just needing to do things a bit differently over the next few months, for the care of everyone.
Some exhibition organisers have been brilliant and refunded everything to the exhibitors, and others have either made us forfeit payments made or transferred them to next year under the guise of ‘postponement’. All this causes us to think a bit carefully about our calendar for next year and I think that we will end up dropping about half of the exhibitions that we have been previously doing because we really only want to be at exhibitions that we feel are both safe and a very positive experience for our customers.
Whilst it’s disappointing not to be able to meet at exhibitions face to face with our customers and friends, we honestly have found ways to make it work really well by phone, email, Zoom calls and even customers visiting us here. So please do be encouraged to try commissioning remotely.
It has been a time where a lot have people have wanted to sort things out that they’ve been meaning to do for sometime, such as upcycling, remodelling, scrapping, resizing as well as having a bit more time at home to browse and think about something special that they have wanted to commission.
I’ve also had a lot more time to respond because I haven’t been flying up and down the motorway!
We will be in touch very shortly because I am finally cataloguing all of our current stock with our photographer, Matt Jessop, and we are trying to get a really good gallery of imagery on to our website as well as finally getting the shop up and running, and we’ll let you know when that is live.
